The western mainland buffers Carum Sound from the harsher currents and weather of the ocean, creating relatively calm seas for frequent fishing and international trade.
A large mountain range separates the kingdoms there from the Empire of Urstille. This range is known as the Vistan Mountains in Meriveria and the Western Mountains in Urstille.
